Rory McCune will be joining us on Wednesday 7th December to lead a discussion on "IT Security - Prepare to fail"
Despite every increasing investment in IT security, 2011 has been a banner year for the attackers, with large corporations and government bodies suffering breaches on a regular basis. This talk will cover some of the recent trends in cyber crime and security breaches and explain that if you want to succeed at security you need to prepare to fail.
Rory has worked in IT and Information Security for the past 15 years. He has held senior technical posts in several large UK financial services security teams and security consultancies. Rory is a CREST Certified Application Testing consultant, and one of only two people globally to hold the SANS GSOC (Gold) certification. He is the OWASP Scotland chapter leader and presents regularly on technical security topics including application development security and penetration testing.
