    Research from website performance and load testing specialist Site Confidence, an NCC Group company, suggests that UK gambling websites are ready to take advantage of renewed traffic from the US to boost revenues, should online gambling be legalised in America.

    UK gambling websites enjoyed 99.91 per cent availability for the period between 1 June and 31 July 2010, representing an average downtime of one hour and 19 minutes, according to Site Confidence.   • Businesses opt for remote assessment to tackle offshore security risk

    Experts at Manchester-based IT assurance specialist, NCC Group plc, have reported a significant increase in organisations using remote risk assessment of their third party suppliers, as the trend for offshore outsourcing continues to rise in a bid to maximise efficiencies.

    A recent YouGov survey, commissioned by NCC Group, found that 20 percent of IT managers at large companies believed that outsourced systems are less secure than those based in-house, and are now turning to remote risk assessment as a way of regularly monitoring their suppliers IT security, as a result.

    - Group revenue up by 15% to £53.7m (2009: £46.8m)

  • Research reveals extent of Twitter outages

    Twitter experienced 1.87 per cent downtime between 1 June and 15 June 2010 – representing a total of six hours and 44 minutes – compared with just 0.18 per cent for the whole of May, according to research from website monitoring and load testing specialist, Site Confidence, an NCC Group company.

    The micro-blogging site experienced two hours and 20 minutes of downtime yesterday (15 June 2010) alone, representing its poorest day for availability since the beginning of June. Twitter also experienced one hour and 41 minutes of downtime on 9 June and one hour and nine minutes on 14 June....

  • John Gittins appointed Finance Director

    NCC Group plc (LSE: NCC, “NCC Group” or “the Group”), the international, independent provider of Escrow and Assurance Testing, has appointed John Gittins as Finance Director and he will take up his appointment on 20 September 2010.

    John joins from Begbies Traynor Group plc, the specialist professional services organisation, where he was Chief Financial Officer for over three years.  Before Begbies Traynor, he was Finance Director at Vertex Data Science, the UK`s second largest business process outsourcer, for seven years.  From 1993 to 1999, he was Group Finance Director of Spring Group plc, the UK IT recruitment and training company.

  • Acquisition of leading testing services business for £15.0m

    April 23, 2010

    NCC Group plc (LSE: NCC, “NCC Group” or “the Group”), the international, independent provider of Escrow and Assurance Testing, has acquired SDLC Solutions Limited (SDLC), a testing services provider for a maximum consideration of £15.0m in cash.

    The earnings enhancing acquisition of SDLC complements the Group’s existing information security and testing capabilities within its Assurance Division.  It will now enable NCC Group to provide a wider range of information security assurance services.

    The initial consideration payable is £7.75m in cash, subject to balance sheet adjustments, with two further payments of up to £7.25m in total against performance related targets over the next 26 months.  The acquisition will be financed ...

    NCC Group plc (LSE: NCC or “the Group”), the international, independent provider of Escrow and Assurance Testing, is today publishing its Interim Management Statement, covering the period from 1 December 2009 to 14 April 2010.

    NCC Group’s trading performance remains in line with the Board’s expectations and on course to deliver the anticipated levels of growth and profitability.  Whilst the economy has not materially picked up, both of the Group’s divisions are trading well ahead of last year.

    In the first 10 months of the financial year, Group revenues are 13% ahead of the same period last year.

    The Conservative Party had the worst average website download speed of the UK’s leading political parties in March at 24.78 seconds, a response time dramatically higher than its election rivals, according to research from leading website monitoring and load testing specialist, Site Confidence, an NCC Group company.
