NCC Group welcomes European Commission’s proposals to strengthen the EU Cybersecurity Act
NCC Group welcomes the European Commission’s forthcoming proposals to revise and modernise the EU’s Cybersecurity Act, recognising the move as an important step toward a more coherent, resilient and secure digital ecosystem across Europe.
The draft reforms, expected to align the Cybersecurity Act more closely with key legislation such as NIS2 and the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), aim to simplify compliance obligations while lifting security standards across the EU. NCC Group believes this ambition is both timely and necessary as organisations contend with growing regulatory complexity and rapidly evolving cyber threats.
Many organisations, particularly those operating across multiple sectors, jurisdictions and global markets, continue to face challenges in determining what is required of them and when. Streamlining cyber security obligations across legislative frameworks will help reduce unnecessary duplication, while maintaining strong, outcome focused minimum security requirements. NCC Group supports any effort that improves clarity for industry while raising the baseline of resilience across Europe.
Philipp Strassmann, SVP Northern Europe Markets & Managing Director Fox IT at NCC Group commented “We welcome the Commission’s push to align NIS2, the Cyber Resilience Act and EU certification schemes. Clearer, coherent rules will help organisations manage real threats without duplicating compliance. Strengthening supply chain assurance on transparent, technical, EU wide criteria, together with better incident preparedness, intelligence sharing and skills, will lift resilience. Given today’s cross border risks, close cooperation with likeminded partners, especially the UK, is essential.”
