NCC Group and Axiell deliver software resilience for ‘in demand’ digital experiences in the cultural sector

02 March 2021

At a time when in-person experiences have been restricted and many museums, galleries and libraries have had to temporarily close their doors to the public, the cultural sector has faced widespread disruption.

Institutions across the globe have aligned their business models to the current market challenges and have expedited digital transformation programmes in order to deliver services to consumers seeking a connection with arts and culture.

Axiell’s range of innovative digital tools are helping over 10,000 cultural organisations to excel in this increasingly interconnected digital world, enabling them to manage their museum, library and archive collections online from wherever they are and making collections easier to access for more people worldwide.

As the cultural sector enters this new era, Axiell has taken it upon itself to proactively implement measures and solutions to ensure the long-term availability of its applications.

Marijke van der Kwartel, Managing Director, Axiell ALM Netherlands said: “Our customers have a significant impact on society so it’s essential that our solutions not only support the development of an inclusive knowledge society but are resilient and available for the long-term”.

Working closely together, Axiell and NCC Group have developed a proactive approach to risk management with a software resilience strategy to ensure Axiell’s customers, both big and small, can have peace of mind in the continuity and availability of the systems and applications that they are placing huge reliance on to ensure that they can continue to deliver a service to their customers.

Through a multi licensee software escrow agreement, customers can gain reassurance around the continuity of their applications. Meaning that should there be a service failure or a situation that prevented Axiell from providing support, each customer signed up to the agreement could apply for the software source code and associated material to be released quickly and safely, enabling them to regain access, continue to operate and ultimately mitigate the impact of downtime.

Marijke van der Kwartel, Managing Director at Axiell ALM Netherlands. ‘Working with a global expert in cyber security and software resilience like NCC Group shows our customers that we understand the importance of their continued operations. The escrow agreement we have in place ensures we deliver resilience to all of our customers across the Cultural sector who are under increasing pressure to digitalise”.

Simon Fieldhouse, Global Managing Director, NCC Group, Software Resilience: “As industries adjust and the technology landscape shifts we are proud to be working with our customers to proactively manage risk and enhance resilience as they find new ways to serve their customers.”
