NCC Group to support HIV charity George House Trust with pro-bono cyber security expertise

23 August 2019

NCC Group is providing pro-bono cyber security expertise to HIV charity George House Trust as part of its ongoing Cyber in the Community initiative to support charitable organisations.

NCC Group will be providing ongoing support to the charity to help it understand and address its current cyber risks and vulnerabilities.

George House Trust provides services to people living with and affected by HIV in the North West. At the Manchester Pride parade this year it is helping to spread the message that undetectable HIV is untransmittable as part of the U=U campaign. With enormous scientific advances over the last five years, HIV medicine is now so effective that people living HIV and on effective treatment cannot pass the virus to anyone else.

Katharina Sommer, head of public affairs at NCC Group said: “The support we provide for George House Trust will help to ensure that the charity can continue to offer life changing services for those who have been affected by HIV, from coming to terms with the diagnosis, to one on one advice. We’ve always been committed to making society safer and more secure, and this is just one way that we can give something back to those who share this ethos.”

Neal Sharpe, Joint Interim Executive Director, at George House Trust said: “George House Trust recognises the vital importance of ensuring a continuing focus on cyber security in order to protect confidential data. We are very grateful to the NCC Group for providing this invaluable free support and very much look forward to working with them."
